It has come to my attention that many of my American friends have never seen Father Ted.
This is an intervention. It’s for your own good.
Father Ted is a classic british sit-com about three Irish Catholic priests living together in the tiny, remote parish of Craggy Island. Ted is an egotist, Dougal is an idiot, and Jack is a lecherous drunk. Beyond that, nothing I say can do justice to the places it goes.
It is one of the best-loved and least reverent bits of TV ever to come out of the UK, and if you have any taste at all for the bleak, the absurd or the downright surreal, you owe it to yourself to click these links. Each episode is only 25 minutes long, and more or less perfect from beginning to end.
Season One
Episode One - Good Luck, Father Ted
Episode Two - Entertaining Father Stone
Episode Three - The Passion of Saint Tibulus
Episode Four - Competition Time
Episode Five - And God Created Woman
Episode Six - Grant Unto Him Eternal Rest
Season Two
Episode Two - Think Fast, Father Ted
Episode Three - Tentacles of Doom
Episode Four - The Old Grey Whistle Theft
Episode Five - A Song For Europe
Episode Seven - Rock-a-Hula Ted (aka. Lovely Girls)
Episode Eight - Cigarettes and Alcohol and Rollerblading
Episode Ten - Flight Into Terror
Episode Eleven - A Christmassy Ted (Christmas Special)
Season Three
Episode One - Are You Right There, Father Ted?
Episode Two - Chirpy Burpy Cheap Sheep
Episode Five - Escape From Victory
Episode Six - Kicking Bishop Brennan Up the Arse
Episode Seven - Night of the Nearly Dead
Episode Eight - Going to America
Watch an episode. Watch four. It doesn’t really matter what order you see them in. Just…please. Do this thing and realise what has been missing from your life.
Ah, g’wan.
G’wan, g’wan, g’wan.
everyone please do yourself a favor and watch this show
g’wan g’wan g’wan

Benedict Cumberbatch reading Sherlock Holmes
This is fantastic. When I first started listening, I was fooled. I thought it was someone else reading as Watson, and Benedict would come in later as Holmes. But NO! He’s reading every character and it’s fantastic. He just gets more and more amazing.

OK to make a font out of your own writing
go here
instead of printing it off just use this blank thing that way you dont have to scan it or anything
so fill that out by pasting it in any art program and whatnot
then save it and upload it to that site
and itll give you an option to download it
so do that and then install it BAM
these font things seriously never work for me
It looks so haphazard ughghgh WRITING IS HARD
THIS IS NICE THOUGH… :’V

Common Characteristics of Natural Born, Freelance, or Career Writers
- An “odd ball” childhood.
Writers tend to start off as peculiar kids. They never quite fit in with their classmates. Their abstract thinking begins early on, and it causes them to struggle to relate to other children and elementary interests. Future writers commonly start off as either lonesome or socially inept kids.
- They were handed books as toys.
Naturally gifted writers are almost always reading enthusiasts. They have a further developed vocabulary and stronger syntax abilities because their scholastic experience goes beyond traditional curriculum.
- They believe in the “All or nothing” policy.
Writers are often perfectionists that will edit until their eyes bleed or completely scratch an idea off the table. They tend to carry that trait into their other projects as well. The writer will either create something complete or nothing at all.
- They take pride in their work.
Even if they need help, writers like doing their work 100% themselves without contribution. This is seen often in college, when the self-proclaimed writers don’t show up to office hours or ask for tutoring. Writers tend to treat even essays as a personal work of art. It’s their work, and it matters that it’s only theirs.
- They are equally organized and disorganized.
A writer’s mind works in choreographed chaos. With too much chaos comes no productivity. With too much organization comes no passion. The writer has learned how to have the perfect combination of both.
- They have both an ego and self-doubt.
-Enough ego to invest in one’s own thoughts, enough doubt to revise and rethink continuously.
- They enjoy simplicity.
Hot coffee, music, and a sunrise could make their morning flawless.
- They are observant.
Writers tend to learn about things from as many angles as they can. They’ll see the same sign for ten years and connect ten-thousand other separate things to the sign in that amount of time. They take in what they can and make a mental map of how things co-exist.
- They recognize the importance of memories.
Writers learn how to utilize past moments as criteria for their work. A writer will not forget their first love, or heartache. The best writers I know are like this.

4 Legal Ways To Get Free Textbooks.
1. Open Culture: Not a large a selection, but high quality texts. If you just want to skim a book to brush up on a course you took in ninth grade, download one of these. I have yet to be disappointed.
2. Book Boon: Provides free college-level textbooks in a PDF format. Probably the widest range of subjects on the web. The site is also pretty.
3. Flat World Knowledge: The worlds largest publisher of free and open college textbooks. Humanitie texts are particularly difficult to come by, this site has a great selection in all disciplines.
4. Textbook Revolution: Some of the books are PDF files, others are viewable online as e-books, or some are simply web sites containing course or multimedia content.
5. Library Pirate: I’ve always had an addiction to torrent based pirating. When this site opened a few months ago, I went a little overboard. After dropping two hundred on a paperback spanish textbook, I downloaded the ebook version illegally. I also got a great Psyc text i’m obsessed with. It will be interesting to see how this site grows- they already have a great selection.
College bookstores completely rip off their students, so ALWAYS reblog free textbooks!
